Small Boats

Every Boat is Custom Made: Every boat is designed and built as per the client's specifications and is unique. This construction process allows a wide degree of design freedom.

Each boat is built of several hundred individually hand fitted hand pieces of wood. It takes 8-12 weeks to built an average canoe or kayak. Small boats can take longer. Because of the time involved there are multiple design and price levels. Prices are quoted based on the size of the boat, the design level, the amount of time and the level of difficulty involved. The Previous Projects page has estimated prices for finished boats.

EFFECTIVE 10/22/2007

In order to give our customers the best materials for their boats we have done away will all standard "spar" varnishes and the System 3 waterborne LPU. The standard finish for all boats will be now be Interlux Perfection Varnish and/or Interlux Perfection Paint. Perfection is a tough, proven, modern, two-component, marine poly-urethane coating. There color can be chosen from 17 standard colors. There are no price changes for this switch.

Small Boats

We can also build other wooden core fiberglass boats. Some of the small row and sailboats types include rowing dinghies, prams, skiffs, sharpies, proas, skeeries, yalws, wherries, or rowing shells, even multihull sailboats up to 30 feet. They can be finished bright (clear coated) or painted. All boats come fully rigged. If you have a specific boat in mind, let us know.
